Upper and lower leg fractures
Femoral fractures usually occur in the elderly after a fall or in younger patients after high-speed trauma. In children they are however rare. In contrast, lower leg fractures are more commonly diagnosed in both children and adults. Treatment is conservative or surgical, depending on the age and extent of the fracture.
